Requirements for the Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Criminal Justice include the following:
- Hours Required and General/College Requirements: A minimum of 120 semester hours, of which 42 must be at the 3000 level or above (advanced), and fulfillment of degree requirements for the Bachelor of Science degree.
- Major Requirements: 54 hours, including 48 hours in criminal justice and 15 hours of advanced criminal justice elective courses.
- Minor Requirements: A minor requires at least 18 hours in a given subject, including 6 hours of advanced work. Specific course sequences for a minor are determined by the department offering the minor. A minor is not required BUT recommended in Psychology; Sociology or Human Services Management Leadership (HSML)

- Other Requirements: Students who have courses that “double-dip,” which count for both core and major, may be required to take additional electives to meet the 120 semester hour requirement
- GPA Requirements: All students entering the Criminal Justice program must have a cumulative grade point average of at least 2.0 or otherwise be in good academic standing.
