ENGL 3376 - History of Composition Studies

3 hours (3;0;0). This course is an overview of Composition Studies and composition pedagogy in higher education in the United States from 1900 to the present. The focus is on major themes and eras in composition studies and how each era affected the teaching of writing in the college composition classroom. The beginnings of composition courses will also be covered. Prerequisite(s): ENGL 1313. Course Typically Offered: Every Other Spring.
