Study of appropriate first language usage in bilingual classrooms, focusing on different core curriculum areas, methods and materials and review of language distribution strategies. Focus on responsive instruction that makes use of effective communication techniques and instructional strategies that actively involve students in the learning process. Language of instruction is Spanish. Placement through departmental Spanish proficiency exam. Prerequisite(s): Successful completion of EDUC 3320, EDBE 3470, EDBE 4370 (maybe taken concurrently) Must be admitted to the Teacher Education Program. Course Typically Offered: Fall and Spring.
