LAW 7286 - Conflicts of Law2.0 - 2.0 Conflicts of Law addresses issues that may arise when a dispute or transaction has connections with more than one state or country. This course covers traditional and modern approaches to choosing the applicable state law in a civil lawsuit, federal constitutional limits on such choices, choice of law in federal court proceedings, choice of law and forum selection clauses, recognition of judgments from other jurisdictions, and application of federal law in the international context. This course will include a research segment.
