HSML 4100 - Chemical Addictions3.0-3.0 4100. 3 hours. This course provides an overview of causes and consequences of chemical addictions as they related to the impact on the individual, family, community and society. Human Service students attain knowledge of the psychological, physiological, and sociological effects of mood altering substances and subsequent challenges. Emphasis is placed on pharmacological effects of tolerance, dependency/withdrawal, cross addiction, and drug interactions.
